Many students enter the program assuming they have basic computer skills. While this is true for some students, most student over estimate their skill level. If you feel that you are able to skip this basic requirement then you can skip to the "How to Test Out" section. The process is quick, easy and best of all free.
There are three (3) sections to this course. Basic, Standard and Advanced. Please complete all lessons and assessments. Either print or take screen shots of your assessment scores. Passing scores are 80% or better. Submit them to your instructor. Email or print is fine.
Please follow the next steps carefully.
- You will need a Microsoft Live ID. If you have a @hotmail or @live email address you already have one. If not, you can create one here.
- To get started click on this link Microsoft Digital Literacy Program. You will register and access the curriculum.
- Select Get help choosing a curriculum version. It does not matter which version you take but you must pass the assessments at 80% or better.
- Launch the e-learnig for each lesson in each section.
- Take the assessment for each lesson of each section. Be sure to print out or screenshot your passing score and submit it.
- Take the Digital Literacy Certificate Test. If you score 80% or better you will print the passing certificate and bring that in to your instructor.
- If you do not get 80% you will need to review the suggested personalized learning plan that will be offered you and then retest. When you have hit 80% or better then print or screenshot the certificate and submit it.
How to Test Out of the Computer Literacy Requirement
- To get started click on the Microsoft Digital Literacy Program.
- Register.
- Where possible select from version 2 of the Basic, Standard and Advanced courses. Complete each sections assessment at 80% or better and print and submit your passing scores from each of the assessments for the following:
